In a discovery that has horrified both investigators and the community, police say they found an elderly man with dementia lying in bed next to a dismembered body.
Authorities were originally called to the home for a welfare check after neighbors reported a foul odor and had not seen the resident for days. When officers entered, they were met with a gruesome scene that left even seasoned investigators shaken.
