7-Year-Old Girl Found Weighing Just 29 Pounds — Parents Accused of Unthinkable Abuse

Oklahoma City, OK — A pair of parents from Oklahoma have been arrested and charged in a horrifying case of alleged child abuse after their 7-year-old daughter was found weighing just 29 pounds, and with her mouth reportedly glued shut.

Police were alerted after receiving a tip about possible abuse in the family’s home. When officers arrived, they found the young girl in a severely malnourished state, showing visible signs of neglect, trauma, and prolonged mistreatment.

According to the initial investigation, the child had been subjected to physical restraint, food deprivation, and emotional abuse. Medical professionals said her body weight was critically low for her age, and she had multiple untreated injuries.

One of the most shocking allegations was that her mouth had been forcibly sealed shut with an adhesive substance, possibly to prevent her from speaking or eating. Officials described the living conditions inside the home as “inhumane and dangerous.”

Parents in Custody

The two parents — whose names are being withheld to protect the child’s identity — are currently facing multiple charges, including:

  • Felony child abuse
  • Child neglect
  • Endangering the welfare of a minor

They remain in custody without bond as the case moves forward. Prosecutors have described the abuse as “prolonged, intentional, and deeply disturbing.”

The Child’s Condition and Recovery

The young girl was immediately taken to a children’s hospital, where doctors are working to stabilize her physically and emotionally. She is currently in the care of Child Protective Services and receiving medical treatment, therapy, and emergency nutrition.

Authorities say the child is expected to survive, but the long-term psychological and developmental effects are still unknown.

Community and Official Response

The case has sparked outrage in the local community. Child welfare advocates are calling for greater oversight and more resources for early intervention.

“This is one of the worst cases we’ve seen,” said a spokesperson for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. “But it’s also a reminder of why speaking up can save a life.”

An investigation is also underway into how the child remained in this condition without earlier detection.
