What started as a routine traffic stop quickly turned into a jaw-dropping moment for officers in Brevard County, Florida, when they discovered that the driver they had just pulled over had over 100 traffic violations on record — including multiple suspensions of his driver’s license.

The bodycam footage, now circulating online, captures the stunned reaction of one officer as he reads through the man’s driving history.

“Randy, your license has been suspended,” the officer says, pausing for a moment before adding, “actually, it’s been suspended… a lot.”

The driver, identified only as Randy M., reportedly gave a nervous laugh before telling officers, “I thought it was all cleared up.” But the officers’ disbelief only grew as they scrolled through the record — a lengthy list including speeding, reckless driving, expired tags, failure to appear in court, and unpaid tickets dating back nearly a decade.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in my career,” one officer can be heard saying in the footage. “This guy shouldn’t be anywhere near a steering wheel.”

According to police reports, Randy had been pulled over dozens of times across multiple Florida counties, yet somehow continued to avoid serious consequences — until now.

During the stop, officers discovered that his vehicle registration had expired months earlier, and the car’s insurance policy had been canceled. The situation escalated when dispatch confirmed that his driver’s license had been officially revoked indefinitely.

Randy was immediately taken into custody and charged with driving with a suspended license (habitual offender) — a felony offense under Florida law. His vehicle was towed, and he was later booked at the county jail.

Neighbors who witnessed the arrest expressed disbelief that someone with such an extensive record had been driving freely in their community.

“It’s terrifying,” said Sarah Gomez, who lives nearby. “You assume people on the road have valid licenses, but apparently that’s not always the case.”

Experts say Randy’s case highlights a growing concern over habitual traffic offenders, many of whom continue to drive despite suspensions, putting others at risk.

“There’s a big gap between license suspension and enforcement,” explained traffic safety analyst Dr. Mark Ellison. “Without stronger follow-up systems, some drivers simply ignore the law until something like this happens.”

When asked why he continued to drive despite the suspensions, Randy reportedly told officers, “I still had to get to work.”

While some online commenters sympathized with his reasoning, many were quick to criticize the sheer volume of his violations.

“Over a hundred? That’s not bad luck — that’s a lifestyle,” one commenter wrote.

Randy now faces up to five years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines. His court date has been set for later this month.

Authorities are using this case as a reminder that repeated violations can — and eventually will — catch up with you.

“The law is clear,” said Sheriff Wayne Ivey. “If your license is suspended, you don’t drive. Period.”
