Police in Tampa, Florida, arrested a woman early Sunday morning after she allegedly brought her four-year-old child into a crowded bar, sparking outrage among patrons and staff who immediately called 911.
According to the police report, officers arrived at the downtown establishment just after 1:45 a.m., following complaints that a visibly intoxicated woman was inside the bar with a small child. Bodycam footage later confirmed that the woman, identified as 28-year-old Melissa Turner, had been drinking while her toddler sat next to her at the counter.
Bartenders told officers that Turner had been served one drink before staff realized she was accompanied by a child. When asked to leave, she reportedly refused and insisted she “wasn’t doing anything wrong.”
“She kept saying, ‘It’s just a bar, what’s the problem? He’s with me,’” said one employee, who described the scene as “unbelievable.”
