In a scene straight out of a movie, motivational speaker and ex-con Wes Watson found himself on the wrong side of the law again — this time behind the wheel of a luxury Rolls-Royce that turned out to have fake license plates and no insurance.

Police bodycam footage shows officers pulling over the sleek white car after noticing mismatched registration details during a traffic stop in a high-end district. What was supposed to be a routine check quickly escalated into a full-blown roadside spectacle.

“When we ran the plate, it came back to a completely different vehicle — a Toyota,” one officer reported. “That’s when we knew something wasn’t right.”

Watson, known for his viral online presence as a tough-love life coach who turned his life around after years in prison, was reportedly calm at first. But when officers began questioning the legitimacy of the plates, things got tense.

According to the report, the ex-con argued that the mistake was due to a “paperwork mix-up” from his dealership. However, when officers ran a secondary check, they discovered that the vehicle also lacked valid insurance and had not been registered properly.

“Sir, you’re driving a Rolls-Royce with no registration, fake tags, and no insurance. That’s three separate offenses,” the officer said in the footage.

Watson reportedly sighed, leaned against the car, and replied, “Man, I’ve worked too hard to go back over something like this.”

After several minutes of discussion, officers allowed Watson to contact his assistant to verify ownership. The Rolls-Royce was eventually towed pending proper documentation. He was cited for multiple vehicle violations but was not arrested at the scene.

Witnesses nearby said they were surprised by the surreal moment. “It’s not every day you see a Rolls-Royce getting pulled over,” one onlooker said. “He looked frustrated but calm — like he’d been through worse.”

Watson later took to social media to address the situation. In a short video, he admitted to the incident but insisted there was no criminal intent. “I’ve been through the system — I know better,” he said. “It was a clerical error, not a crime. The car’s mine, paid in full. Don’t believe everything you hear.”

Despite his explanation, critics were quick to point out the irony. “You can take the man out of prison, but you can’t take the prison out of the man,” one commenter wrote, while supporters defended him for owning up and facing the issue head-on.

Police confirmed that the car was released after proper verification but emphasized that fake tags and lack of insurance are serious offenses that can lead to impoundment or even jail time.

As of now, Watson remains free — but the viral footage has reignited debates about accountability, fame, and second chances.

For someone who built his brand preaching responsibility, this incident might just be a humbling reminder that no one is truly above the law — even when driving a Rolls-Royce.
