In an incident straight out of a mystery novel, officials at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport were left completely baffled after a woman arriving from Tokyo presented a passport from a country that, according to every international record, does not exist.
The woman, described as calm and cooperative, handed over a dark blue passport bearing the name “The Sovereign Nation of Torenza.” At first, customs officers assumed it was a misprint or perhaps a fake document.
