What was supposed to be a romantic first date quickly turned into an unbelievable scam that left one man both embarrassed and out of pocket.

According to reports, the man had been chatting with a woman online for a few weeks before finally making plans to meet in person. She sent him her “home address,” and eager to impress, he showed up ready to start their date. But when he arrived, something felt off.

Instead of a cozy house, the address led him directly to a nail salon. Confused, he called the woman, only for her to casually instruct him to go inside and “take care of her bill.” The shocked man realized too late that the so-called date was nothing more than a setup.

Inside, workers presented him with a staggering $400 bill for services she had racked up—nails, pedicure, and extras. The woman never even showed up to meet him, effectively vanishing after making him her personal bank for the night.

The story has since gone viral, sparking debates online about dating scams, financial manipulation, and red flags in modern relationships. Many users commented that this was a textbook case of “using” someone, while others warned that people should always meet in public places first and never spend money before trust is built.

For the man, it was a costly lesson: sometimes what looks like love online can end in deception offline. 💔
