In a scene that officers described as one of the most disturbing of their careers, police rescued five young children from a home filled with unimaginable neglect and danger. Responding to a neighbor’s tip about constant cries and suspicious activity, authorities arrived to find the children living in deplorable conditions — with no food, no running water, and surrounded by hazards that no child should ever face.
According to investigators, the children, ranging in age from 2 to 11, were visibly malnourished and frightened. They were immediately taken to safety while social services launched an urgent investigation.
