Authorities have released body-worn camera footage showing the arrest of a man accused of causing the tragic death of his infant daughter.
According to police reports, the incident involved a case of suspected shaken baby syndrome, which investigators say resulted in fatal injuries to the child. Emergency services were called to the home after the baby was found unresponsive.
Despite attempts to save her, the baby girl was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The father, whose name has not been released pending court proceedings, was arrested at the scene. In the footage released by police, officers can be seen approaching the man calmly before taking him into custody.
“This is a heartbreaking case that has deeply affected everyone involved,” a spokesperson for the department stated. “Our officers acted swiftly and respectfully during a very emotional situation.”
The suspect now faces charges related to child abuse and homicide, and the investigation remains ongoing.
