A horrific case of neglect has rocked the community after a 4-year-old child was found unresponsive in a locked car, left alone for hours while the parents went shopping.
Temperatures soared above 100°F (38°C) that day. When passersby noticed the child slumped over in the back seat, they immediately called 911. By the time paramedics arrived, it was too late.
“That car was like an oven,” one first responder said. “It was one of the worst scenes I’ve ever witnessed.”
Surveillance footage later confirmed the parents spent over two hours inside a mall, completely unaware — or uninterested — in the danger they left behind.
They are now facing felony charges including manslaughter, child endangerment, and criminal negligence.
The internet is furious.
“You don’t forget your child. You don’t leave them to die,” one comment read.
