Police officers responding to a late-night call made a horrifying discovery: eight children left alone inside a car overnight, with only one still conscious.
Authorities say the children, ranging from toddlers to pre-teens, were left unsupervised in a locked vehicle in a remote parking lot. By the time officers arrived, most of the children were severely dehydrated and unresponsive — except for one, who was barely awake and managed to call for help.
“It was like a nightmare inside that car,” one officer reported. “The heat, the smell — those kids were in real danger.”
The parents are now under investigation for child endangerment and neglect. All eight children were rushed to the hospital, where they are now recovering.
