A disturbing incident in Flagler County has sparked outrage after authorities discovered a baby left alone in a car on Friday night — while the child’s parents were reportedly drinking inside a nearby bar.
According to the sheriff’s office, concerned witnesses spotted the infant unattended in the parked vehicle and quickly alerted authorities. Deputies arrived at the scene and found the baby alone, vulnerable, and at risk in the dark lot.
Moments later, the parents were located inside a local bar, seemingly unaware — or unconcerned — about the danger they had left their child in.
“This is NEVER acceptable,” Sheriff Rick Staly stated. “Leaving a baby in a car while you go drink is not only irresponsible — it’s criminal.”
The parents were taken into custody and now face multiple charges, including child neglect. The baby was safely removed from the scene and placed in the care of child protective services.
The case has ignited a heated conversation online, with many demanding stricter consequences for parents who risk their children’s lives through reckless behavior. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
