A mother is under investigation after allegedly leaving her young daughter alone in a parked car for nearly two hours while she worked out at a local gym. The incident took place on a hot afternoon, with temperatures outside soaring past 90°F (32°C).
Witnesses say they saw the child inside the vehicle, sweating and visibly distressed, prompting someone to call authorities. When police arrived, they found the child still inside the car, with no air conditioning running.
The mother reportedly returned to the vehicle just minutes later and claimed she had only been gone a short time. However, gym surveillance footage appears to show she had checked in nearly two hours earlier.
Fortunately, the child was unharmed but treated on-site for mild dehydration. Child Protective Services has been notified, and the case is now being reviewed by local authorities.
This alarming event has sparked outrage online, with many calling for stricter laws against leaving children unattended in vehicles—especially during extreme weather.
